Review:
12 Angry Men is an outstanding movie. This proves that for a movie to be good, it does not require extensive landscape, costumes, complicated or expensive special effects - but superlatives acting.The twelve angry men twelve jurors in a murder trial. An eighteen-year-old boy from a background of slum is accused of stabbing his father to death and facing the electric chair if convicted. Eleven of the men believed that the boy was guilty of one (Henry Fonda) is suspect. Can he succeed in persuading others? The case provides only a framework, however. Greatness of the film lies in bringing together twelve different men who have never met each other before, and the interaction of the characters, as each person brings his background and life experiences in the case. Thus, we hesitate football coach (Martin balsam), a shy, insecure bank clerk (John Fiedler), call aggressive company director (Lee J. Cobb), the potent agents (eg Marshall), a shy dweller Place the poor (Jack Klugman), stable, reliable artist (Edward Binns), selfish salesman (Jack Warden), a calm, collected architect (Fonda), a devoted, obedient old man (Joseph Sweeney) of racially bigoted garage owner (Ed Begley) Eastern Europe watchmaker (George Voskovec) Beefcake and advertising agent (Robert Webber), with very little chat and else.Almost entire movie take place in one room, to the courtroom where the man stopped to consider their conception. Viewer or find yourself sweating to the jury as heat rises, literally and metaphorically, in men as they make their way to their final judgment. Interestingly, the jury (apart from both ends) is never named. They should not. Characters talk about them.Henry Fonda is fit and well probably as a maverick who brings home the importance of Jurys duty to examine the evidence thoroughly and impartially. Joseph Sweeney was interesting as jury â„– 9, a quiet but shrewd old man with no misses, while eg Marshall brings his usual poise and power to the role of the jury did not. 4. All participants shine, but perhaps the best performance is that of Lee J. Cobb as jury â„– 3, courageous, stubborn, aggressive, vengeful vigilante who has to break when forced to confront the failure of his relationship with his own son. Lots of stars 12 Angry Men became household names. Henry Fonda continued his distinguished career until his death in 1982, and fathering Jane and Peter. Lee J. Cobb landed the key role of Judge Henry Garth in Virginia. EG Marshall has enjoyed a long and respected career in film and television, including playing Joseph P. Kennedy Kennedy mini-series. Jack Klugman's Quincy, while John Fiedler voiced Piglet in Winnie the Pooh movie and cartoons.Of twelve, only John Fiedler, Jack Klugman and Jack Warden * still alive. Although eighty mark, all of which are still operational. The movie is still available on video last year and it was shown on TV quite often. I do not recommend it too highly! (* John Fiedler died in June 2005. Jack Warden died in July 2006.)
