Review:
Terrence Malick, the director behind most discussed pictures of the past year, the Tree of Life, suddenly interested in his new film in the Venice Film Festival. I came here to see the master, but also interested in new Malicks film. I hesitate to get excited about it though. Malik is widely regarded as stuffy as a director, meditation for many years, and releasing his films are very rare. I feel that it is too early for drinks between Malik to release another job. After such a personal film, as TTOF, I think it may be more minor works, such as how did the Coen brothers' No country, as well as ball screw minimalist comedy Burn After Reading. How ready and the one I was.To Wonder great movie. IMHO living tree is a towering achievement, and this film does not lack much in terms of scale, ambition and achievement. by any standards a great movie. malicks strong addition to a small but significant amount of work. Works very well, but like TTOF, take aa bit of a back seat to Malik to do it. Affleck and McAdams is excellent as Bardem and Olga Kurylenko. I do not want to give a lot of specific plot or character details. most of which are long plot synopsis released today. very much like a dream, and there is a lack of dialogue as TTOF. He says most of the stories through images, music and physical symbols as act towards one another. I never liked Affleck as an actor before. Hes good here, but I would not have minded man in role.About that Affleck yesterday. I wonder who did TTOF look like transformers. that statement is so exaggerated and largely misunderstood. In any case, even more than the experiment TTOF miracle. which do not affect ambitious film yet. I'm so glad to see Malik faster. it really is a dream to have the film Malik 3 years in a row. next year is a horse cup. could not be more excited. as TTOF, rich film will reward repeated viewing, but a little lighter than TTOF. People who have problems with the whole universe and dinosaurs TTOF thing does not have to worry here. Despite the ambitious, it's a little deeper and be more acceptable to a wider audience. That is not to say that the main take this film, because they will not. Malick film through and through, and I could not be more grateful for that.Before I see it, the race for my favorite movie this year really came down to the master (big, but still processing) and animal SOUTHERN WILD.
